Privacy request

Fields marked * are required. There is no charge.

Are you a RodeoStat account holder?
What are you requesting? *
Are you submitting on behalf of someone else?
Are you a parent or guardian requesting on behalf of a minor?

1. Opt out of sale and sharing

Selecting "Opt out of the sale or sharing of my personal information" above will:

  • Exclude your personal information from every dataset we license or sell to third parties, including any data licensed to sports wagering or fantasy sports operators
  • Disable non-essential analytics and any advertising technologies for your browsing session
  • Apply on a forward-looking basis

Your competition results will remain visible in the Services and in public standings: that's a separate question, addressed in Section 5.

Global Privacy Control

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or extension sends GPC, we treat it as an opt-out request for that browser automatically. You don't have to submit anything.

Learn more at globalprivacycontrol.org.

We use only strictly necessary and functional cookies, which you can manage through your browser settings. See our Cookie Notice.

We extend the core rights (access, correction, deletion, and opt-out) to everyone, regardless of where you live and regardless of whether the law requires it.

3. What happens after you submit

StepTiming
We acknowledge receiptWithin 10 business days
We verify your identityUsually 1–3 business days
We respond substantivelyWithin 45 days
Extension, if neededUp to 45 additional days, with notice and reasons

Opt-out requests are processed within 15 business days and do not require identity verification.

There is no charge, and we will not treat you differently for making a request.

4. How we verify you

If you have an account: sign in, or confirm control of the email address on file.

If you don't have an account (most contestants, contractors, judges, and officials), we'll ask you to confirm details matching our records, such as your competitor number, hometown, and a rodeo you competed at. For deletion or access requests we may ask for a copy of an association membership card or photo ID.

We use identity documents solely to verify your request and delete them immediately after verification. We never add them to your record.

Authorized agents may submit on your behalf with written permission signed by you. We may contact you directly to confirm.

Parents and guardians may submit on behalf of a minor. We will verify your relationship before acting.

5. What we can and can't delete

We'll be direct with you about this.

We will delete:

  • Your account, profile, and login credentials
  • Contact information and communication history
  • Biographical text, notes, and photographs
  • Usage and analytics history
  • Marketing subscriptions
  • Uploaded documents, subject to our retention schedule

We will generally retain:

  • Competition results: times, scores, placings, penalties, earnings, and standings

Why. Rodeo results are a historical record of public athletic competition. Removing one falsifies the record, breaks the standings and career statistics that depend on it, and defeats the archival purpose of the dataset. Newspapers don't unpublish box scores, and we take the same position. Depending on your jurisdiction, we may have a legitimate basis or legal exemption for retaining a public sporting record.

What we'll do instead:

  • Correct anything that's wrong: always, no conditions
  • Flag your records so they're excluded from data we license or sell
  • Consider whether results can be dissociated from other identifying information
  • Tell you specifically what we removed, what we kept, and why

We may also retain information where necessary to complete a transaction, detect fraud or security incidents, comply with a legal obligation, or establish or defend legal claims.

6. If you're not a RodeoStat user

Most people whose information we hold have never used our software. If that's you, our Contestant Notice is written specifically for you and explains what we hold and where it came from.

You can still use this page to make a request.

7. Minors

We do not sell, share, or license personal information we identify as relating to a person under 18: to anyone, for any purpose. We do not use it for advertising, and we never include it in data licensed to any wagering, betting, fantasy, or gambling operator.

We also exclude all youth, junior, high school, college, and amateur divisions from any dataset licensed for wagering purposes.

Parents and guardians can request review, correction, or deletion of a minor's information here or at privacy@rodeostat.com.

7A. Wagering and fantasy data licensing

RodeoStat does not operate any betting product. We may license competition data to licensed sports wagering and fantasy sports operators.

Selecting "Opt out of the sale or sharing of my personal information" in the form above excludes you from this entirely, along with every other commercial dataset we license. There is no separate form and no cost.

8. Marketing email

Unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of any marketing email, or select "Unsubscribe from marketing email" above.

We will still send transactional messages about your account, billing, security, and subscription renewals. These aren't marketing and can't be opted out of while your account is active.

9. If we say no

If we deny your request in whole or in part, we'll tell you why.

To appeal: reply to our response, or email privacy@rodeostat.com with "Privacy Appeal" in the subject line. Someone will review it fresh and respond within 45 days with a written decision and reasoning.
