1. What this covers
This notice explains the cookies and similar technologies used on rodeostat.com and in the RodeoStat web applications, including DTA Builder, DTA Cleaner, RodeoStat Polls, and our embedded standings widgets.
It supplements our Privacy Policy.
2. What these technologies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device.
We also use, or may use:
- Local storage and session storage: browser storage for preferences and offline data
- Pixels and tags: small files that record that a page loaded
- Software development kits (SDKs): code in our mobile apps that performs similar functions
- Server logs: records of requests to our servers, including IP address and user agent
We refer to all of these as "cookies" in this notice.
3. Categories we use
3.1 Strictly Necessary
Required for the Services to work. These cannot be switched off.
| Purpose | Examples |
|---|---|
| Authentication and session management | Keeping you signed in |
| Security | Fraud prevention, bot detection, CSRF protection |
| Load balancing and routing | Cloudflare traffic management |
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Authentication tokens (first-party) | RodeoStat | Keeping you signed in and securing your session | Session / until sign-out |
__cf_bm and related Cloudflare cookies | Cloudflare (our security provider) | Bot management and protecting the Services from abuse | Up to 30 minutes |
| Stripe cookies (checkout pages only) | Stripe (our payment processor) | Payment processing and fraud prevention | Per Stripe's policy |
3.2 Functional
Remember your choices and improve usability. Disabling these degrades the experience but does not break the Services.
| Purpose | Examples |
|---|---|
| Interface preferences | Theme, layout, column order |
| Offline data caching | Announce offline mode |
| Recently viewed profiles | Search history within the app |
3.3 Analytics and Performance
We do not currently use analytics or performance cookies. If that changes, we will update this notice before they are set and, where required by law, ask for your consent first.
3.4 Advertising and Targeting
We do not currently use advertising or targeting cookies.
If that changes, we will update this notice and give you the ability to opt out before it takes effect.
3.5 Embedded Widgets
Our standings widgets and embeds on third-party sites set only strictly necessary cookies. They do not track visitors across sites and do not build advertising profiles.
4. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by our service providers rather than by us.
| Provider | Purpose | Their policy |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Security, bot management, performance | cloudflare.com/privacypolicy |
| Stripe | Payment processing, fraud prevention | stripe.com/privacy |
Pages embedding third-party content, for example YouTube tutorial videos, may set cookies from those providers. We do not control them.
5. Your choices
5.1 Browser controls
Because we use only strictly necessary and functional cookies, there is no separate consent tool. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in.
5.2 Global Privacy Control
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or extension sends GPC, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information and apply it automatically.
5.3 Mobile apps
Manage advertising identifiers through your device settings:
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
- Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads
5.4 Do Not Track
There is no consistent industry standard for Do Not Track browser signals, and we do not respond to them. We do respond to Global Privacy Control, described above.
6. Sale and sharing under U.S. state law
Some U.S. state privacy laws define "sale" and "sharing" broadly enough to include the use of certain analytics and advertising technologies, even where no money changes hands.
We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. Our audit of the Services found no third-party analytics libraries, advertising pixels, or cross-site tracking technologies. Because we use only the essential technologies described above, no cookie consent banner is required, and none is shown. If we ever introduce analytics or similar technologies, we will update this notice first and, where required by law, request consent before they are set.
7. Where the Services are available
RodeoStat is offered exclusively in the United States, Canada, Australia, Mexico, and Brazil. It is not offered in or directed at any other country or territory. This notice is written for users in those five markets.
8. Changes
We will update this notice when our cookie practices change and revise the "Last Updated" date.
