RodeoStat Copyright and DMCA Policy

Effective September 17, 2026

1. Our position

RodeoStat respects intellectual property rights and expects our users to do the same.

We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. § 512, and we terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

2. Designated Copyright Agent

Send copyright infringement notices to:

Copyright Agent
RodeoStat LLC
4764 W Integrity Way #238
Appleton, WI 54913
United States

Email: legal@rodeostat.com
Phone: 774-404-3838

This agent is registered with the United States Copyright Office. Registration details are searchable at dmca.copyright.gov.

Put "DMCA" in the subject line. This address also handles our other legal matters, and copyright notices marked this way are routed to the Copyright Agent. For support questions, use support@rodeostat.com instead.

3. Filing a takedown notice

To be effective under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include all of the following:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.

  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed. If multiple works at one site are covered, a representative list is sufficient.

  3. Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it: a direct URL is best.

  4. Your contact information: name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.

  5. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.

  6. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.

An incomplete notice may not be effective and may delay our response.

3.1 Please consider fair use first

Before sending a notice, please consider whether the use is authorized by law, including fair use.

Note specifically: individual facts, including competition times, scores, placings, and earnings, are not protected by copyright under U.S. law. A notice claiming copyright in raw sports results is unlikely to be effective. Copyright may protect original written descriptions, photographs, video, logos, and the original selection and arrangement of a compilation.

3.2 Misrepresentation carries liability

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), a person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees. Do not send a notice for material you do not hold rights in, or to suppress lawful use.

4. What we do when we receive a notice

  1. Review the notice for compliance with § 512(c)(3)
  2. Remove or disable access to the material expeditiously if the notice is valid
  3. Notify the user who posted it, and provide them a copy of the notice
  4. Inform the user of their right to submit a counter-notice
  5. Record the notice against the account for our repeat-infringer policy

We may remove material without waiting for the user's response, as the DMCA contemplates.

5. Counter-notice

If your material was removed and you believe it was removed in error or as a result of misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice.

A counter-notice must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.

  2. Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal.

  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.

  4. Your name, address, and telephone number.

  5. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the United States District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located, or, if your address is outside the United States, the Eastern District of Wisconsin, and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice or their agent.

Send counter-notices to legal@rodeostat.com.

5.1 What happens next

We will forward your counter-notice to the original complainant. If they do not notify us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain you from the activity, we may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days.

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), knowingly materially misrepresenting that material was removed by mistake may make you liable for damages. Submitting a counter-notice may expose you to a lawsuit. Consider consulting an attorney.

6. Repeat infringer policy

We terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers.

  • Each valid takedown notice results in a strike against the account
  • We notify the user of each strike
  • Three strikes within a 12-month period results in account termination
  • A strike is removed if the material is restored following an uncontested counter-notice
  • We may terminate an account immediately, without regard to strike count, for egregious or willful infringement
  • Terminated accounts are not eligible for refunds and may not be re-registered

We maintain records of notices and account actions.

7. Trademark complaints

For claims that content infringes a trademark rather than a copyright, email legal@rodeostat.com with:

  • Your trademark registration number and jurisdiction, or a description of your common-law rights
  • The mark at issue and the goods or services it covers
  • The specific location of the allegedly infringing use
  • An explanation of why the use is likely to cause confusion
  • Your contact information

Note on third-party names: RodeoStat references association and product names, including PRCA, WPRA, CPRA, NIRA, DakStats, and Daktronics, for the purpose of identifying the source or compatibility of data and files. We are independent and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them. All third-party marks are the property of their respective owners.

8. Data and database claims

If you believe RodeoStat holds or displays data you hold rights in, including data made available under a license, subscription, or association terms of use, please contact legal@rodeostat.com rather than filing a DMCA notice. Claims of this kind usually arise under contract or database rights rather than copyright, and we would rather resolve them directly.

We take these claims seriously and will respond substantively. If you are an association or rights holder and want to discuss licensing, we're interested in that conversation.

9. Privacy claims

To request removal of personal information rather than copyrighted material, see our Contestant Notice or email privacy@rodeostat.com. The DMCA process does not apply to privacy requests.

10. Transparency

We may publish periodic aggregate statistics about the notices we receive. We may also submit notices to public repositories such as the Lumen Database, with personal contact information redacted.

11. Modifications

We may update this Policy. The current version is always at rodeostat.com/legal/dmca.
